As you can see, I've joined the BlogHer Ad Network. When I wrote about raising money for water some weeks ago, a commenter suggested that I monetize my blog -- you know, add sponsorship. I'm not completely sure how it all works, but decided to take her advice and do so now, primarily to see what (if any) sort of revenue could be generated from the dribble that I write. Whatever monies that come from advertising here will go straight back into the Mission: Water for Life fund. I'll report how it works out.
I chose BlogHer because of their good reputation and because they seem to be more particular about the sort of advertising they place on blogs. I'm confident the ads they place here will be quality and without questionable content. At the moment, however, my ads are a bit of a mess. Please be patient as I figure out how to make the code work within my sort-of customized blog. When I'm able to get it up and running, watch for this:
This is the annual BlogHer survey which you will see on sites throughout the blogosphere. When it pops up, please take a moment to complete it. Not only will your survey completion give you a chance to win free entry into a BlogHer Event of your choice, but I believe it will also reflect that people, you know, read my blog...
and that's what I care about the most. :)
Amanda, if by chance you had an extra moment, I would LOVE it if you'd give me some tips on how to set up BlogHer ads. I tried about a month ago and couldn't figure it out - apparently I'm advertisingly challenged! You can email me at my junk account: puznee@gmail.com and I'll give you my real email address.
If you don't have time, though, I definitely understand! :)
I just signed up with BlogHer and hope it works out. They do seem like a good advertising group.
Great idea for a great cause.
Good thinkin! I'm a little scared to branch out into the blog ad world, but there so many who have great success with it. Yet I guess just one more way God can use a talent/ability to minister. The sky is the limit!
Sorry this is off-topic, but had a quick question-
I was over at Hot Coupon World and just now found the Grocery Guide!!
Is this like the Grocery Game lists? With stars telling me how good of a deal this is (instead of black, blue and green?!)
And it's free?
Help!
You know, I bet it's the same list. I know the "same" list is free on couponmom.com, so I don't know why it wouldn't be on Hot Coupon World. I've been living on the CVS Boards of late, so I haven't seen the list, but you bet your backside I'm looking for it now!
