Allow me to share with you a mere morsel of my Mother's Day sweetness. Bub brought home a Mother's Day tribute book he fashioned at school, complete with multi-colored flowers, marker smudges, and plenty of exclamation points.
(Book Title: Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
As I opened the Manila paper cover, I thought,
"Maybe I'm not doing such a bad job."
I turned the page and felt proud that he understands
how obedience benefits us all:
Ah, the dagger of guilt. Welcome, my old friend.
I'm not particularly fond of tomatoes,
and I can't recall dirt ever being on the menu.
Surely he knows how I love chocolate.
"What I Know About my Mother:" A List
Remarkable details, but not one of them true.
Still, we're having salad for dinner --
and maybe some dirt.
(Who thinks it's a gift to have her child guess her weight? Seriously.)
Thank goodness you have self-esteem! 80,000 lbs?!?!
I love sweet, homemade books like that!
Ha! That is pretty funny! Thanks for letting us see.
I like the new layout of your blog.
oh thank-you for a wonderful laugh. 80000 lbs. beautiful. The minds of our children are so very interesting aren't they?
That is so sweet! My kids have no idea about weight either!
I'm cracking up! You're right - on the list of details you want your kids to share about you, weight isn't one. Thanks for sharing - that was a great laugh!
I agree with the weight thing. I am catching up on your blog. I am glad your Mother's Day was a good one. Kids do say the funniest things. You are blessed.
Wow, 80,000 huh? Poor kid. :-)
That is a sweet memory though!
That is funny. Rachel brought home the same sheet - she said I was 40 pounds - I'm sure her teachers helped her with that part!!
Oh how I needed a laugh this morning! That is too precious. Are mud milkshakes on the menu tonight my short 34 inch friend?
Dang what kind of diet are you on? lol! I bet you could loose a lot of that weight with a tomato and dirt meal every day.
