This week, we welcomed fall with a trip to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. The kids and I were joined by our friends DeDe and Rachel. The day began fairly cool and mild, but as soon as we arrived, temperatures began to soar. DeDe is very pregnant and I have a general distaste for extreme heat, so our stay at the Patch was very brief. Fortunately, our kids are big enough that we were able to perch on the Patch owner's porch swing where there was a little bit of a cool breeze and watch our kids race through the mazes.

It was too hot for the bounce houses, so we let the kids ride the train and wondered how we would get them to leave the Pumpkin Patch early without major meltdowns. To our great advantage, the heavens opened up with large raindrops that even the kids couldn't ignore.
