Once again, it's time for the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival. Last time, I gave away a gift card for chocolate. This time, I'm offering a free $10 Starbucks Gift Card.
I know you must be thinking, "WHAT!? It's summer, and easily 115 degrees in the shade. Who in their right mind wants some Starbucks?" But let me assure you all, you do.
Starbucks ain't just about coffee, people. Starbucks has a delicious selection of icy, summery drinks. You can ice down your regular coffees, have some shaken flavored iced teas, or enjoy a Frappucino or one of the new Vivanno smoothies. My personal favorite, however, is the new Frozen Green Tea Lemonade. Yumm-ee!
This giveaway is open to anyone interested in participating, whether you're new to this blog or you pop in often. To enter, just leave your favorite summer drink in the comments, and it doesn't necessarily have to be something from Starbucks. My favorite summer drink is water.. I know boring :) But there is nothing better then a big glass of water on a hot day..... of course when I'm out and about Starbucks is the best way to get the caffeine fix that keeps me going :)

Hawaiian shaved ice at the fair! (Or any outside event where it's being sold.) I pass up the funnel cakes and pronto pups for the shaved ice every time! Favorite flavor is watermelon.

My all time favorite treat that ultimately turns into a drink is shaved ice treats. I don't mean those wimpie chunked ice snow cones, but an honest to goodness straight from the road side shack ones. That fluffy fruity taste is hard to beat!
My sister-in-law is also an addict, but she took it one step further and has cut a deal with a local vendor who has been setting up shop every summer for longer then she can remember.
Instead of mourning her treat after the summer season. She takes advantage of their end of season surplus and has them make her a quart or two of different flavors she can stash away.
She said they usually last(if the conditions are right) the family of four 2-3 months, before the odd leftover need to be pitched.
We got her a home kit, but she is still perfecting the recipes to come close to theirs.
