We have a couple of really cool teenage neighbors who do amazing skateboard tricks right in front of our house, so for the last several months, Bub has been begging for a skateboard of his own. I've been reluctant because not only is all the equipment pricey, but the medical bills that could potentially come with the honing of the skillz would be even moreso.
Last week, while browsing around a local thrift store, Bub found a really nice skateboard buried among the toys. His begging eyes, the argument of exercise (oh, he's that good), and a half-price sale sealed the deal. One happy Bub spent the weekend learning how to stay upright.
Today, not falling down -- tomorrow, the world.

I think skateboards might be a rite of passage.
